24th of October 2009: The "Social Evening" at the Kilbarchan Community Nursery was a big success and above all a great night!! I would like to thank the wonderful staff and everybody else who was involved in organizing the event.

A Fun and Social evening organised for ladies (and men of course).
For a small charge you will have a Lovely Ladies night with free Wine & Cheese and you also have a chance to buy early Christmas presents as there will be great individual stalls. For Example The Bookpeople, Virgin Vie, Wooden Toys, Flowers & Little Presents, Cards and of course I will be selling my Jewellery too.*
There will also be a Raffle so all gorgeous ingredients for a great night!

24th July 2009: It has been a while... but I have not been sitting still (and I am not talking about my baby bump!!) I have created brand new collections for Lenny's Art!! New collections with great new materials and colours which can be seen, tried and bought on the next Jewellery Party being held on the 8th of August at my home in Cardonald, Glasgow. There will be lots & lots to choose from for everybody in every budget. The new collection is not live on the website yet so come along to the party on the 8th of August and be the first one to pick and choose!! 13th May 2009: De sieraden party in Katwijk was een groot succes! Met name dankzij mijn moeder, Leny van der Plas, de host van de avond. Als zij een feestje organiseert weet je dat het gezellig wordt en dat er lekkere hapjes zijn!! Ook gaat mijn dank uit naar mijn tante Corrie Barnhoorn die er voor gezorgd heeft dat iedereen van de party op de hoogte was... Verder iedereen bedankt die deel heeft uit gemaakt van de party!

6th April 2009: It's been a busy few days to say the least. My head is brimming with new ideas and I have been literally "living" my jewellery of late! I have started working on my latest Collection - and it's quite topical - summer's round the corner (I know 2009 is flying already!) and soon it will be WEDDING SEASON. My latest collection will be aimed at the would be brides and bridesmaids (apologies to the Grooms!). I will be making extensive use of exquisite Swarovskis, Rhinestones (Diamond simulants originally gathered from rock crystals from River Rhine) and other semi-precious and precious beads in all their magnificent splendour. I aim to use a clever combination of finely cut round crystals on their own and/or as rondelles (a circular jewel encrusted in silver/gold frames) & hugged on both sides by striking light reflecting pearls in different shades. The Collection will be available in different shades of Gold (Pale Gold, Champagne etc.), Purple (Lilac Frost, Dark Purple, Soft Pink etc.), Flaming Red, Classic Black and evergreen Ivory/White - after all it's all about being spoilt for choice on your Big Day! Watch the space......

4th April 2009: The Jewellery Party at the
Lighthouse Bar, Greenock was a roaring success thanks to Kerry to whom I extend a special token of gratitude for her excellent organisational ability and efforts (along with her sister Clare for kindly providing her Bar as a great venue). The atmosphere was great and the Karaoke provided the extra touch of entertainment! Thanks also to all those who were kind enough to buy the jewellery for their custom. I hope you enjoy wearing it and I look forward to repeat orders on the website! All the customers' names were put in a hat for a 'bonus' prize and the lucky winner is Sharon Robertson who has won herself a

28th March 2009: Inspired by the romantic city of Venice, I am delighted to launch the "Venezia" Collection. It's inspiration comes from the immaculate glass sculptures produced in the Glass Factories of Murano which are sold in the narrow streets of Venice, and indeed, all over the world! As you may have guessed, I have made elaborate use of lampwork beads which form the basis of all creations in this Collection. Lampwork beads are made by melting narrow rods of glass by hand over an open flame. The glass is wrapped around a thin metal rod, which later becomes the hole through the bead. Many effects can be achieved through using various colors of glass and various techniques.

27th March 2009: Today marks the launch of the
"Himalaya" Collection. I chose the name of the highest mountains on earth as a symbol to the minute chipstones used in this collection - they all started their journey as big rocks or mountains before breaking off over millions of years into the small, abstract shapes and sizes we see today. The collections is named after their amazing natural geological journey!

25th March 2009: The "Shangri-la" Collection is now live! Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia - a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. The people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan and only very slowly aging in appearance. This collection is my feeble attempt to evoke the same principles in my jewellery by giving it a timeless look! I have extensively utilised Tibetan Silver, beads and charms frequently used by Tibetan artisans. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient - symptomatic of my Collection! .

23rd March 2009: It gives me great pleasure to finally unveil my First Collection under the
"Tanishq" brand. This range comprises Necklaces, Bracelets & matching Rings in vibrant colours. It is an eclectic mix of glossy pearls, silver charms, Swarovski crystals and striking glass beads. I have been working on this range since my early foray into jewellery design and I thank all for the warm response it has received so far. I will regularly update the collection with new colour schemes so please keep watching for your favourites.
